《星球大战：义军崛起》故事发生在前传三部曲之后，是一趟全新、刺激的探险。银河系被黑暗势力所笼罩，由西斯大帝所率领的帝国军强势施以铁腕统治。反叛军只能占领一个遥远的行星，在这里整军待发寻求反扑。他们不仅要求生，还要勇敢的面对源源不绝的帝国风暴兵以及钛战舰的袭击。反叛军们虽然无厘头但是充满冒险精神，他们作为英雄，必须展现他们独特的技能及天赋，并带头反抗帝国。

幕后制作

这部全新“星战”动画系列《星球大战：义军崛起》的故事发生在介于《星战》第三章和第四章之间（摧毁最后的绝地武士的帝国反击战）的纪元。而《星球大战：克隆战争》动画系列片导演戴夫·费罗尼将出任这部全新动画系列的监制。片中的艺术概念则将采用曾为“星战”系列电影设计过经典角色和场景的 已故科幻大师拉尔夫·麦考瑞的作品。
